The continued discussions on the port reforms are making
very little progress, according to the unions.
Thus the threat of a strike action, to begin mid-end January, in anticipation of the law coming into effect 17/2/05, is very real. The "wardrums" being beaten by both sides may be, part of a spin campaign, but the drums are being heard. This is against a background of the ports working very well, and our proformas are being maintained, in spite of late arrivals due to GTO issues. Also our stock levels are getting close to normal. WE STRONGLY RECOMEND THAT ANY SHIPMENT THAT CAN BE
BROUGHT FORWARD WILL BE SENT ASAP
