A. BACKGROUND 

1. We intend to acquire about 250 additional new dry TEU containers or, of less than 24 months old in good conditions. See paragraph C1. 

B. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 

1. Place and date of manufacture of each unit to be specified, as well as guarantee period. Specimen container picture, sketch plan and detailed specifications to be provided. 

2. Containers will have to be numbered/marked as per the requirements of the Buyer (except if second hand). These will be communicated to the Supplier in due course. 

3. Quoted price ( in USD) to be at delivered depot in Port Louis ( Mauritius) 

C TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 

1. Containers should, normally, be brand new. However, offers of good condition (to IICL5 Standard) second-hand units manufactured not less than 24 months prior effective delivery dates will also be considered. 

2. Containers manufacturing standard and characteristics should conform to ISO freight container specifications. For TEU: - in particular as regards length (6058 mm external), width (2438 mm external), height (2591 mm external) and maximum gross weight of 30 tones. The containers should be certified and Safety Approval Platefitted as per the requirements of the International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC). The containers should also meet the requirements of the TIR (Customs) Convention. 

3. Containers should be manufactured with best quality mild steel. Preference will be given to containers made up of special rust-resistant material such as CORTEN steel or equivalent (more specifically as regards the roof, doors and undercarriage) and reinforced side walls (metal plate to be at least 2 mm thick). 

Containers to be fitted with appropriate pairs of forklift pockets and to be suitable painted with rust-protecting undercoat. Containers to have suitable waterproof double doors fitted on one side. The floor should consist of plywood boards.
