Position - Site Electrical Engineer

Contract - New Goldmine, Tanzania, East Africa

Duration - Initially 6mnths, with extension opportunities

Commencement - August 2007

Salary - US$ negotiable

A opportunity exists for a degree qualified electrical engineer to join the electrical division of a leading East African Construction company. Working under the management of an experienced multi-national team your role would be the day to day management of site activities on the enabling works for a new goldmine. Key project works include

-Installation, testing and commissioning 20kms power cabling up to 33kV

-Installation, testing and commissioning 33kV transformers

-installation 3No 500kVA Diesel Generators

-Installation of general security and street lighting.

-Installation, testing and commissioning LV Distribution Switchgear

This hands-on position would suit a dynamic engineer with a minimum of 5years experience in the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical installations in Industrial (preferably mining applications). Suitable applicants will need to have a good level of English Language skills both verbal and written and will need to show a desire to understand and learn the culture of Tanzania and its workforce.

English Language Interviews with potential candidates will be held in Shanghai towards the end of June.
